FAMILY DINNER
22 Dec, a special day that family had to come together to have dinner. I have no idea what you name that event in English.
The picture is my dearest dad! Many says we look like copy and paste. Just the young and old version. Hahaha.
Had coffee at Pacific Coffee
Play Chinese Chess with my Dad.. The pictures below damn funny, we look so serious.. .
We headed for dinner at The Soup Restaurant..
DJIBOUTI, AFRICA
Djibouti is located in the horn of Africa, it is bordered by Eritrea in the north, Ethiopia in the west and south, and Somalia in the southeast. The remainder of the border is formed by the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden at the east. Djibouti, which had a population of 818,159 at the 2009 census, is one of the least populous countries in Africa. The predominant religion in Djibouti is Islam, with a 94% majority, with the remaining 6% practicing Christianity.
A different kind of experience when you reach this place, a very poor developed place. Djibouti, imagine when you are in the bus, the kids in the street knocking your bus window asking you for money. Hand sign saying they need money for food. Damn poor thing, life is just not fair for them. Thinking ourselves are them, we will definitely can't survive. We should be lucky where we living in. Don't take everything for granted..
Let's about Djibouti Kempinski Palace, is a five stars hotel in Djibouti. A total different world from the outside. Very grand place and great scenery.
The best part of this country is the tour we organized. Heading for the saltest sea in the world. Enjoy the pictures.
LAKE ASSAL
Lake Assal is a crater lake in central-eastern Djibouti. It is located at the western end of Gulf of Tadjoura in the Tadjoura Region, touching Dikhil Region, at the top of the Great Rift Valley, some 120 km west of Djibouti city. Lake Assal is a saline lake which lies 155 m (509 ft) below sea level in the Afar Triangle, making it the lowest point on land in Africa and the third lowest land depression on Earth after the Dead Sea and Sea of Galilee. There is no outflow from the lake and, due to high evaporation, the salinity level of its waters is ten times that of the sea, making it the most saltest in the world after Don Juan Pond. Lake Assal is the world's largest salt reserve, which is presently exploited under four concessions awarded in 2002 at the southeast end of the lake. The lake, considered a "national treasure". However, the law does not define the boundary limits of the lake.
Look at the pictures below, look like a beach right?? Yah, it is but without sands. What you see is all salt!!!!
What is amazing is you will flow in the water automatically. You will NEVER sink in this lake.. Is really a lifetime experience swimming floating in this lake. Enjoy the pictures.
OMG.. you see I'm floating with my hands and leg above the water..
We had lunch at some unexpected place. Just somewhere in the middle of mountain and cliffs.
Dinner at a place name Melting Pot. In the net, this place is highly recommended in Djibouti. A great place. The special dish we had is the Camel's Meat. Have you try before??
This mark end of tour in Djibouti, next post I will blog about Salalah, Oman! Stay Tune...
